The short version
- Your data is yours. It lives on your devices and in your family's iCloud, never on our servers (we don't have any). See the Privacy Policy.
- No forced arbitration and no class-action waiver. We don't take your legal rights away in the fine print.
- Points aren't money. The app keeps score; any real-world allowance is between you and your family.
- You can leave anytime. Export your data, delete the app, and that's that.
- If we change these terms, we'll say so at this URL and in the app's release notes. No silent edits.
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Alan Vazquez, the developer of Glaus ("we", "us"). They are not an agreement with Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, though Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary (Apple requires us to say that, and it's true).
If you set up a household in Glaus, you're accepting these terms as an adult, on behalf of your family, including any children you invite.
Your license to use Glaus
We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use Glaus on Apple devices that you own or control, for your family's own use, as allowed by the App Store's usage rules. That's the whole point of the app, so use it freely within your household.
What the license doesn't cover: reselling the app, copying it for distribution, or reverse engineering it (except where the law says you can regardless of what we write here).
Your family's data belongs to you
Everything your family enters (profiles, chores, rewards, notes, photos) is yours. We claim no ownership and no license over it, we can't see it, and we will never sell it or use it for advertising. You can export it or delete it from inside the app at any time. The Privacy Policy covers this in detail and is part of these terms.
Children and families
Glaus is built for families. A parent or guardian sets up the household, controls it, and decides what children can see and do. Children use the app under their parent's supervision and consent; the parent accepts these terms for them. Parents can edit or remove a child's information, or the child themselves, at any time in the app.
Points, allowance, and rewards are not real money
Points, balances, allowance, savings, and rewards in Glaus are a scorekeeping tool. They aren't currency, a bank account, a payment service, or stored value, and we aren't a financial institution. Whether and how points turn into real money or real rewards is entirely between the members of your family. The app also isn't financial advice.
Acceptable use
Keep it legal and keep it kind:
- Don't use the app to break the law or to harm anyone.
- Don't try to disrupt other people's use of the app or of iCloud.
- You confirm you aren't in a country under a U.S. government embargo or on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties (another thing Apple requires us to include).
The app is provided "as is"
We work hard on Glaus, but we can't promise it will be perfect, uninterrupted, or bug-free, so to the maximum extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer law gives you; where the law grants you a warranty we can't disclaim, we honor it.
If the app fails to meet a warranty that does apply, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Beyond that refund, Apple has no warranty obligation for Glaus; anything else is on us.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows it: we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim (or fifty U.S. dollars if you paid nothing). Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Plain-language note: the app keeps track of chores and points for your family. Please don't build anything load-bearing on it that would make those limits feel unfair.
Support, maintenance, and problems
We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, for maintaining and supporting it, and for addressing any claims about it (for example, product liability claims, claims that the app doesn't meet a legal or regulatory requirement, or consumer protection claims). Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Glaus.
If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging that claim.

What we promise not to do
- No forced arbitration. If we ever have a dispute, you keep your right to go to a real court.
- No class-action waiver.
- No selling or sharing your data. There's nothing to sell; we never receive it.
- No lock-in. Export is built into the app, and deleting the app deletes its local data.
- No silent changes to these terms. See below.
Ending things
You can stop using Glaus whenever you like; delete the app and you're done, no account to close, no hoops. We can end your license if you seriously break these terms. Either way, your family's data remains yours, on your devices and in your iCloud, and the Privacy Policy keeps applying to it.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above, post the new version at this URL, and mention material changes in the app's release notes. Changes never apply retroactively, and continuing to use the app after a change is how you accept it. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the app and take your data with you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where you live, and you can bring any dispute in your own local courts. We think that's fairer than making families argue about it somewhere convenient for us.
